DAY 14- Silverbolt (Combiner Wars)

January 14th, 2015. Day 14 of 365.

It's Voyager time! Combiner Wars wouldn't be Combiner Wars without a torso to accompany some limbs, right? The first core team Voyager in the line, Silverbolt is a rock solid robot toy with the exact same basic joints as the rest of the jets, minus one: there's no waist joint. 

With no hands or feet to be bundled with, Silverbolt comes with two weapons: A shield/buckler/grabby thing that can easily mount on his forearm, and a giant cannon. The two weapons can be combined together to form a giant cannon for some sort of bigger robot to hold or something.

I AIN'T GETTING ON NO PLANE, FOOL.

As with Firefly/ight, Silverbolt's expression is part of what sells the toy for me. To those who don't know, the core character trait of the aerialbot leader is that he's a flying transformer that absolutely hates flying and has a MASSIVE fear of heights. The look on Silverbolt's face follows suit, pushing a characterful expression of someone who is about to have the mother of all panic attacks.

Silverbolt also turns into a jet, and following the grand tradition of Aerialbot Torso altmodes the underside of the jet is basically an entire mass of robot parts, almost as if out of sheer spite Silverbolt didn't put any effort into scanning an alternate mode properly.

Also his jet mode is HUGE. Try figuring out where the photoshopping the white background happened.

Silverbolt ultimately is the key component for the combination of Superion, flipping his legs apart and becoming the giant torso for Superion's titanic body.

Unfortunately, he's... incomplete right now. I guess Superion will have to wait for another day to have his chance to shine.
