DAY 07- Zapdor (LEGO Mixels)

January 7th, 2015. Day 7 of 365

A few days ago, I took a brief look at the Transformers Construct-Bots Dino Riders line and alluded to the fact that in terms of building toys in a similar price range there was something over the horizon that is the one true king.

Introducing LEGO Mixels.

Debuting less than a year ago, the LEGO Mixel line quickly won me over the instant I saw @deefuzz post a single image of a strange yellow creature with a single antenna on top of his head that reminded me of a tesla coil. Immediately I went on the hunt and after finding him at retail, Zapdor quickly became my little desk buddy and the subject of dozens of quick iPhone photos. (Linking them here rather than embedding them due to quality.)

ZAPDOR IS LOVE.
Zapdor (as well as the majority of the entire Mixels line) is a champion of the price point, being only $4 or $5 depending your retailer, and boasting a impressive number of parts (including a jointing system that at the time surprised me until I realized other non-Technic LEGO lines have been doing this for a while) and a fantastic level of charm and customization.

Zapdor himself remains the stand-out for me when it comes to Mixels due to his fantastically articulated legs and his endearing stare.

ZAPDOR IS LIFE.

Day 7 Complete. 358 days Remain.

----

And that's week one! Next week we'll take a look at the only other toy that could possibly compete with Zapdor as being my spirit animal, some small bitey robots that really hate turtles, three airplanes and a helicopter that wishes he was an airplane, and maybe even a Gundam. Stay tuned for Week 2!
