DAY 12- Alpha Bravo (Combiner Wars)

January 12th, 2015. Day 12 of 365.

Uh oh.

So hey, Alpha Bravo is here. He's the newest Aerialbot and also one outraaaaaaaaaaaageous dude. Not content with releasing a combiner with four red and white jets, Hasbro replaced the apparently well-loved Slingshot design/character with Alpha Bravo in Combiner Wars.

The toy is pretty solid, offering the exact same range of movement from Air Raid, as well as a super similar transformation with the legs, barely hidden arms, and a backpack that shifts and rearranges around to form a helicopter.

"The name's Alpha B, and I rock the telly. I'm half-Joe Camel and a third Fonzarelli!"
He also comes with two weapons: Another not-fisthand that turns into a double chain-gun, and a rifle that resembles an LMG. He also has giant missiles sculpted onto his forearms. And also I guess his tail rotor can... I dunno. It can maybe distract enemies with a light breeze or something.

Alpha Bravo is the most unique of the Aerialbots by default, but... unfortunately aside from his alternate mode, he's kinda generic. Between his very Vortex-y robot mode, and the nagging feeling we'll be seeing this toy maybe three more times, Alpha Bravo comes off as an acceptable stand-in on the Aerialbot team albeit one that doesn't bring about anything special.

Also he's apparently ruining G1.

Have fun with that, kids.
He's totally in your face.
Day 12 Complete, 353 Days Remain.

  1. Before he got the alt-mode reassignment surgery, Alpha Bravo was a chopper, and not a very good one at that. Sure, he hung out with other choppers, used the "Choppers Only" restrooms, but deep down in his spark, he knew he was an "aero-plane." He tried "gliding" but his rotors weren't the right equipment. He even tried on some wings when no one was looking, and he knew it felt right. And one day, he would eventually go to Ratchet with his secret desire and, well, Optimus was an open-minded general.

Heck, he let Sky Lynx into the service and no one knows to this day what he's supposed to be.
